I had the pleasure of meeting the founder of Toms Shoes Blake Mycoskie a few weeks ago. But long before I ever met him in person, I was well aware of his profound work. I own two pairs of Toms Shoes…and I love them for their no-frills look and ridiculous comfort…but more so for what they stand for.
In case you aren’t aware of the concept behind Toms Shoes…Blake donates a pair of shoes for every pair you buy. 
This simple, generous concept has meant millions of shoes for those in need. Shoes to wear to work….school…carry out life. Inspired by Blake and others like him…I will be traveling to Haiti this Thursday for a volunteer trip with the not-for-profit group The Global Syndicate.
I may never be able to step into such big shoes as Blake Mycoskie’s…but I’m a firm believer that even the smallest step to living a more purposeful life is better than standing still.
